Visit Eanam Wharf – the centre of Blackburn’s canal history where amongst a range of open day activities you’ll meet members of the Kathleen Ferrier Society who are staging an exhibition about the life and work of Blackburn’s internationally famous contralto. The wharf is only a short walk from the town centre as you head out past Morrison’s and you can also catch one of the vintage buses leaving every 20 minutes from Penny Street. There’s also parking nearby. Part of a full weekend of activities taking place across Blackburn as part of the Blackburn Heritage Festival.
